I don't follow. The reason Unity is dead is because it was abandoned in favor of GNOME 3. > To be blunt, I don't get why people like it. I don't like it either, but I can understand why people do. Since you can navigate the entire system from the dash, you only have to memorize one keyboard shortcut. When helping a beginner to GNU/Linux get started, it takes me less than a minute to explain how to use GNOME regardless of what their former operating system is. Trisquel's default MATE configuration has the advantage of being similar in layout to Windows 7, but there are many more things to explain before the user can completely navigate their desktop than with GNOME.
