I assume this relates only to having this combination. In that case the first thing that comes into my mind is: have a fully encrypted disk or other storage medium you use. Although I never tried this on my own due to time constraints (yep, being a very busy person who prefers a mindless relaxation after a hard week rather than using more manpower to learn something useful), I heard it is possible, so here's the chance - go ahead and have fun! And be my guide when I decide to do the same at last. ;)

Just think what usual tasks are personal computers being used for and do the same, only with the knowledge and satisfaction that yours uses a combination of software which at some point was a standard and should become one again. Yes, keep in mind that while theoretically every software, no matter what license it has, can have an "easter egg" which eavesdrop on you, the developers of libre software say: "We have nothing to hide. You don't have to trust us, grab this code, check it and compile it so you can have proof we didn't add anything malicious". So what I'm saying is, you can feel safe to store or exchange information that no one except from the intended recipient/owner should see.

This is just a snippet of things you can do - just with the additional trust. If you want, you can share your skills or interests, maybe there will be more narrow and more detailed ideas.
