The point is, if we only have a downstream solution, we'll be constantly patching the upstream code, and that should be avoided if possible.
Yeah, I know. I'm sure it can help to work together with the Debian and
Fedora communities, though. They've been really helpful when it comes to this
sort of thing in the past (especially Fedora).
