I borrowed libbiblesync from Debian Stretch when I installed Xiphos.

I don't know enough about the various licenses to know if libbiblesync's
licensing is a freedom concern. Its 2014 license is "public-domain", and it
has a 2015 license by someone at Ubuntu that's a "BSD-3-Clause" license. The
license terms are:
"Redistribution and use in source and binary forms, with or without
modification, are permitted provided that the following conditions
are met:

notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer.
2. Redistributions in binary form must reproduce the above copyright
notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer in the
documentation and/or other materials provided with the distribution.
3. Neither the name of the copyright holder nor the names of its

Xiphos is amazing software by the way. I really like having access to so many
versions of the Bible and so many study guides and commentaries.
