I have a screen recording showing me changing from primary DNS 192.168.1.254
secondary 8.8.8.8 ternary 8.8.4.4 to primary 159.134.0.0 secondary
159.134.0.2 (these are my ISP's DNS server addresses. Please note there is a
comma between the two DNS server addresses i.e. 159.134.0.1,159.134.0.2 and
the command to restart networking is sudo service network-manager restart.
However as it is in .mkv format and 3.9MB in size I cannot attach it to this
post. I can email it to you if you wish.
In the meantime here are some screenshots If you click on the network icon on
the taskbar and select connection information you can see your current
settings, close that click on the network icon and choose edit connections
select your ethernet connection and click on the edit button. Yoy will need
to authenticate with your password. Click on IPv4 Settings.
Under method:
Automatic (DHCP) will include your router as the primary DNS server
AUtomatic (DHCP) addresses only will exclude your router
Under DNS Servers enter either one ip address or two separated by a comma ","
see example: 159.134.0.1,159.134.0.2
These are my ISP's DNS server addresses.
If you open a terminal and enter:
sudo service network-manager restart
This will restart your networking with the new settings
