I had to try out the new addition to FSF's list of approved distros. I've got
to say, it's a tad rough around the edges. They use Openrc rather than
systemd, which I welcome, but I had a hard time getting things like
hibernation to work, since they don't include pm-utils in their repositories.
For a default web browser they had a version of Iceweasel called
Iceweasel-uxp which is based on version 52, so it's old and clunky. I grabbed
a deb package of Abrowser and converted it to a pacman package with "debtap"
and it worked fine. I went on their irc channel and asked them why they
didn't have an updated, rebranded version of Firefox and was told that they
don't like Quantum because of some various non-free issues. All in all I
prefer Parabola to Hyperbola.
