"apt remove" only removes the software, not your user's configuration of the program, so everything being the same after reinstalling is the expected behavior. If you want to start fresh, you should run $ sudo apt purge abrowser && sudo apt install abrowser The difference between "apt remove" and "apt purge" is that "apt purge" also removes configuration files. Alternatively, you could enter "about:profiles" into Abrowser's URL bar and click "Create a New Profile" to create a new user profile with the default settings.
