"suggests" meaning it's not a dependency right? Couldn't apt be set to merely  
not suggest those instead of removing the entire thing? Or is it not doable  
in Trisquel?

If I get the .deb file from Debian is it safe to install or will it pull some  
proprietary stuff from their site?
