Ok, I tried to flash my laptop again, but got an error message that wouldn't  
allow me to do it.  I restarted-and this time I got the Libreroot gnu startup  
screen!  The Trisquel installation was messed up, but I was able to reinstall  
from my dvd this time (the 32 bit version seems to be a little quirkier) and  
so far it works! :D
