Hello everyone,

Moving to completely free software is very hard, but I will persevere!

I am trying to choose between aBrowser and IceCat, I am aware that this has been asked on this forum before. In my specific use-case I was wondering if IceCat would have potentially less of a fingerprint due to not needing to install any add-ons besides the preinstalled ones, or aBrowser with differing add-ons? If javascript is disabled and an add-on such as blender was installed could you effectively fake that you are using win10 and other normie configurations on aBrowser?

A second question for anyone knowledgeable in java/javascript coding would be whether lichess.org is truly libre? On icecat with librejs the javascript did not load, however their javascript source code is published and they claim to be free/libre on the website (claims made at https://lichess.org/about). Although the GNUChess app is great, playing against engines is never as satisfying as playing against real people.

If it truly is libre, and just incompatible with librejs, would using abrowser and noscript, whitelisting on that website, compromise my freedom?

Thanks!
