Ah. Just reread your message and saw that you were able to get into your wife's account. This means that the disk is not encrypted, which is good. That was my worry, since the graphical Trisquel installer has an option to encrypt the entire disk. It does not have an option to encrypt your home folder, so unless you used the text installer (which does have such an option) you should be okay.
