Well actually there's no bug.
I was just confused because some of the packages I tried to download to make
KDE connect work smoothly weren't in the repository
But at this point I don't remember what they are.
Turns out there's not really a problem with KDE connect at all. If you want
to use it you can. For some reason it won't let me see my contacts or
messages and I suspect that's because some part of the system isn't there but
you can still send sms through your computer and see notifications on your
phone if you want.
Or like, send files through other devices etc.
