Hello there,

I’ve had weird date and time issues since I removed the (almost) dead battery from my laptop. The laptop is completely shut down and unplugged. When Trisquel starts, the time and date is completely inaccurate and after click on it in the task bar, it adjusts to the good one. It doesn’t happen if the laptop is shut down but plugged in. Also, when I leave sleep mode, the time is set to the moment I entered the sleep mode and it takes several seconds to adjust and to let me type my password.

I heard about CMOS battery (I have a ThinkPad T400s with Libreboot) which I can change. If I change it, I know that I’ll need to reset the hardware clock with the system clock settings. Before doing this, I want to be sure that I don’t have any time issue within Trisquel itself. So, I went to Date & Time settings and I noticed that it was set to ‘Manual’. When I changed it so it can synchronize with the server, it asks me to install NTP support. If I accept, I get the error shown in the attached screenshot.

Also, running timedatectl gives:

Local time: lun. 2020-03-23 13:50:49 CET
Universal time: lun. 2020-03-23 12:50:49 UTC
        RTC time: lun. 2020-03-23 12:50:49
       Time zone: Europe/Paris (CET, +0100)
 Network time on: yes
NTP synchronized: yes
 RTC in local TZ: no

It looks synchronized so I’m a little bit lost with all this date/time issues. First, is there a way to activate the NTP support in the GUI?
