I tried to install PureOS once just to check it out, I was unable to install
it on my x200. When I looked for help I found this thread :

Someone (who seems like a Purism employee, my JS is off so I can't verify on
their site) replied by saying "It's only intended to work with Librem
Laptops" and dismissed the question.
The OP of the thread later replied saying he solved by changing sources from
Debian Buster.
I don't know if I am using this term correctly or not but this seems like
Tivoization where free software is being used to lock users behind specific
hardware.
