[Trisquel-users] I cannot see easily which layer I am selecting now on Gimp

Because on the layer tab, the selected layer seems not to be obvious. If the  
status bar is on, I can confirm which the current selected layer is easily  
but when the pointer is on the picture, there is always something like an  
explanation of the current selected tool and I cannot erase the explanation,  
and usually the pointer is on the picture. Sometimes I was drawing on a wrong  
layer stupidly and somehow I have been trying to set it show the current  
selected layer for more than 30 minutes stupidly but I cannot make it. On the  
layer tab, if I can confirm which layer is selected easily, it would be fine  
though. I am not sure whether I am stupid or the dev is stupid.
