Well, the "Sorted by Threading" should not be available (i.e. should be
grayed-out and definitely not clickable) when threading is disabled. Are
you sure you were able to select it?
It turns out that I was wrong when speaking about combining threading
and a custom sort -- Trojita *can* do that, it will sort bythe thread
roots in that case. Which is why the option is there -- if someone wants
to have a threaded view and sort the threads by, say, thesender's mail,
they can. Which is why this option is in place.
I guess it might be rather misleading, though -- I'll look into merging
that with the sorting menu [1].
