However there was a bug (some weeks ago) where Trojita had problems

This is rather strange as I am not aware of any recent changes to the
sqlite cache. Do you have an example of the offending imap.cache.sqlite
file which I could investigate? Please note that that file contains a
lot of private data. What I would like to actually do is simply running
the Linux version with a copy of that file and using a debugger to see
what breaks.

Not right now but since the version v0.4.1-p1 seems to have the problem I could generate one. I will get back to you on that one.

I checked my chat logs the initial "bug report" came from cschutijser in the trojita channel at 2014-03-20 (21:21:39 to be exact. This is GMT+1)

He stated that he played a bit with the Windows builds (I don't know which version exactly) for Trojita and it crashed on start up. But if he removed the sqlite cache it worked again.

The nithgly build of the day before (this should be Trojita-debug-2014-03-19) however didn't not show this problem.

cschutijser checked back the next day with the latest windows nightly builds.
A snippet of chat log:

[21:58:01] <cschutijser> cd311: so just to be clear, the debug build you created today (Trojita-debug-2014-03-20-v0.4-46-g2823b2.exe) works fine as well [21:58:05] <cd311> cschutijser: installing the last git build and it starts without removing the imap cache. did anything happen in git regarding the imap cache?
[21:58:20] <cd311> cschutijser: yes. i just tested this
[21:59:07] <cschutijser> cd311: I will take a look in the git history
[22:01:08] <jkt> nope, nothing related to cache
