Jan, when attempting the scroll-to-filter thing you concerned that it would cause trouble with a slow rendering giant mail under your possession.

Hi Thomas,
could you please refresh my memory and provide more context? What is the scroll-to-filter referring to?

Would that "just" be Crispin's "Multi-media mail demonstration" or something else and if the latter, is it publically available or could you share it?

What I complained about was a mail consisting just of the a single plaintext item, e.g. [1]; you can create one like that by abusing the trojita composer by repeatedly hitting Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V and attempting to show the result.

That mail:

- takes long time to appear in the widget,
- cause high CPU usage and visible latencies when e.g. changing the window size - my favorite test case is to use the wide layout, open that mail and move the splitter between the message list vidget and the message viewer; I suspect that a horizontal orientation is required

Scrolling is completely fine on this mail.

Cheers,
Jan
