Here is an interesting quote from LRH

Subjective Reality - L. Ron Hubbard
(excerpt from 4 page undated transcript)

[...]
But the deterioration of self-confidence in being able to handle life goes down
into a degradation that makes one believe that he now must have another
beingness to handle things for him. And now he starts living life on an
irresponsibility. This goes into the life-death cycle that right now is so
normal and usual on this planet. It's about as normal as a girl in pink tights
standing on Buckingham Palace's flagpole. It's not usual. You don't have to
kick the bucket every few years. It's not any part of your contract. But
life, invalidating the body and the valences, gets down to an invalidation
which says, "The best thing to do is chuck the mock-up."
A person ages to the degree that they feel invalidated. Processing wise, the
age of a man in any lifetime is directly proportional to the accumulation of
unknowns, which is invalidation. The unknowingness gets greater and greater
and he finally kicks the bucket. His susceptibility to invalidation is directly
proportional to the number of valences he has accumulated because the
invalidation of self is what caused valences, and the invalidation of valences
is what caused more valences. If you want to draw a common denominator of all
aberration, it could be said to be in the vicinity of invalidation.
The person is as aberrated as they FEEL invalidated. It would be how much he
feels, not how much he has. From person to person, being to being, the factor
of invalidation is entirely different.
