You also hear women complaining that their men are "emotionally unavailable".
In my opinion that condition is similar. Possibly just not as severe. I think at least part of the problem is derived from the idea ( or theory) (maybe it is just deranged justification, to cover up the reason for child abuse) that in the old days in some family lines or cultures, young boys had to be brought up tough, and not taught love, emotional bonding and related stuff, so they would not be emotional sissies. And if they had to go to war, they would be tough and fearless. David
