I just want to comment on part of that. I've noticed that intelligence and stupidity are not, as most folks would consider them to be, an inverse ratio. In others words, the premise is, the more intelligent a person is the less stupid they are. Uh... No. Not true. Observable in life. Smart people do very stupid things. Do I need to list examples? I'm sure we can think of several. More important is Emotional IQ. EQ? ;-) Which is becoming more known, I think there is even a book or two about it now. I think there is also something about a persons innate ability to not bullshit themselves? It's a skill. I know it exists. I do not know how it all ties in together though. But you can see so-called OT's in the cult who are sick, broke, PTS to the cult and pretending to themselves and others that everything is peachy. Something went wrong there for them.
