Dear Peter,

No one is maintaining it.  It supposedly cost $20 a month plus labour expenses to keep up.  It is not up to date.  I was thinking of suggesting closing it at the end of the year extension it has got (or on 31st Dec this year) and running a warning about it in the meantime, so people can take their material off.

However I have just talked to a friend (called Roy or Paul, from Asia and at the moment living in Roxwell Georgia).  He say it should not cost so much.  That it is easy to get uptodate (especially mad is all those "new" things which are years old).  He suggested that a committee of ExScn all cable of updating the list should be appointed.  At the moment it is updated /run (sort of) by a friend of a friend of mine
He wrote to me:
I'm not comfortable giving that information out.
I'll give you the info, but, unless someone else is actually offering cash money to sustain the web site, then the information is confidential.
Curiosity is not enough.
I pay the bill; it is about $200.00 a month plus Xxx's labor.
Xxx has it registered, but the name of the owner is shrouded to keep the Co$ from going after one of us.

I'll be speaking to this friend on Tuesday, and discuss this.

I have limited comm lines, and I do not think there are five people on my lines who would be willing form a committee and to commit themselves to, over the years, jointly as needed, keeping an eye on the site and making occasional updates.

David Pelley (just say "someone") saw about it on the Trom list, and asked me questions, some of the replies I got from my friend  follow:

How long is it good for?
One year

What is going to happen next time?
Same kind of thing, we'll rush around with no idea what to do, and "what was that password?" Etc

Rather funny - quiet in opposition to Ron's Policy on Cope and Organise :-) But that started me wondering what was the optimum thing to do about the site!

Maybe you have some ideas.  If you do, it would be nice if you got them to me before I talk to my friend (by regular appointment every Tuesday at 06.08 Scentral European time  - he is in California)

All best wishes,

Ant

Hi Ant
Who is maintaining the freezoneearth.org site.  I would like to ask them to add a pointer to the Amazon.com authors page for Dennis Stephens but when i sent an email to the contact address at the freezoneearth.org site it came back undeliverable.

Thanks
