Hi David This is a good point. Some thing happen because nature causes them.
For instance a Hurricane blows in and destroys your home. The laws of physics cause weather so it doesn't take a postulate on your part to be the victim of a hurricane or other natural phenomena. When I first studied TROM I felt that everyone creates the life they have even if they are a victim of abuse and I still feel some people are in abusive relationships and choose to stay there. However I now see it is possible to get into an abusive relationship as the child you point out as an example and not have any option to get out of the relationship. So it can be that both outcomes are possible the abused child wants to be abused and the abused child does not want to be abused but has to ability to leave.
