Hi David This is the awkwardness of the English language.
If the teacher is "forcing me to know" how to spell cat, I will feel I am being "forced to know" how to spell cat. It is incorrect to say the teacher is "forcing me to know" how to spell cat and I am being "forcing to know" how to spell cat. The words are not the act. The words are only used to convey what is happening and once you understand what is happening you can find the incidents simply feeling the forces involved and ignore the words. If you understand that teacher is "forcing to know" and student is being "forced to know" then you can find the right instances in your mind and timebreak them.
