Colleen,
in order to answers your questions
Is boredom indicative of overrun? How does one restore oneself after
overrun?
please take a look at the definitions below first.

[OVERRUN, 1. an overrun means doing something too long that has engrams
connected with it which means an engram chain with too many engrams on it
being restimulated by life or auditing. Hence overrun. If this overrun persisted
unhandled eventually the pc would be overwhelmed and one in theory, would
have a low TA. (HCOB 16 Jun 70) 2 . gone on too long or happened too often.
(HCOB 3 Jun 71) 3 . means the pc came out of the bank and the pc went back
into it again. (Class VIII, No. 2) 4 . continuing a process past the optimum point.
(Abil 218) 5 . running past a free, floating needle on any type of process.
(HCOB 2 Aug 65)]

[OVERRUNNING, means accumulating protests and upsets about it until it is just a
mass of stops. Anyone can do anything forever unless he begins to stop it.
(HCOB 2 Jun 71 I)]

Now, boredom is not necessarily indicative here but could of course be.
E.g. a PC was at 2.0 at session start; went up, let's say to 3.0 on the scale,
then went down to 2.5 (boredom) again. So a good point had been passed.
Often a PC just looses interest. And even more often - not so much in solo
but when audited by someone who pushes too hard - a PC protests, gets ARC
broken, antagonistic, ... Well, check for overrun.

When you can use a meter, or your auditor uses a meter on you, a high TA
(see def. below) is one indicator for overrun. (As well it can mean "non confront".) Therefore use discernment, ask yourself, ask for overrun. A thetan basically knows.
So a meter is not a must have.

How to remedy an overrun:

Basically you always aim to rehabilitate the moment just before the overrun
occurred - the moment where you felt fine, but from where on you have (or were
forced to) continue(d) too long. If you've got the right moment you'll feel
relief. Acknowledge yourself now - if you're solo. If you're hooked up to a
meter you would see a blow-down followed by a floating needle.

Certainly one could sit the overrun out somehow. But why waste your time.
A not so well done session can be repaired by your auditor - if you have one.
If you're on your own and do at least know how to time-break, the session
can be resolved. A bit of havingness afterwards will straighten you out.

Some more related definitions with references to HCOBs:

[O/R LISTING, one clears "overrun" as "gone on too long" or "happened too
often." Then one l i s t s smoothly, calmly to the BD F/N item which simply
appears. There is no nulling. (HCOB 19 May 71)]

[HIGH TA, 1. 3.5 or up at session start. (HCOB 3 Jan 70) 2. a high TA in Scn is always an overrun. In Dn it means an engram too late on the chain to erase is in
restimulation. (HCOB 28 Apr 69) 3. high TA means the person can still stop
things and is trying to do so. However, all one has to do is restimulate and leave
unflat an engram chain to have a high TA. High TA is reflecting the force
contained in the chain. (HCOB 16 Jun 70)]

[DATE/LOCATE, a process to date and locate a flat point in a process that appears
overrun. (HCOB 24 Sept 71) Abbr. D/L.]

Best

Robin

Hi Pete,

Your statements make sense indeed. This datum was just not obvious to me in
the begining; maybe due to impatience, or neurosis.

Scientology taught me that boredom is on the tone scale and, like any other emotion can be - as Dennis says - "touched" and dissipated, emotions being
light particles, so, yes, I want to quit at boredom too; however above
boredom are more interesting emotions, but it's not bad to settle for
boredom if it is higher than the beginning emotional state. For example,
I'm mostly in a studied contentment these days and consider it quite
acceptable compared with my previous chronic emotional states.... and the
nulling of certain compulsions to jump into things and interact gives me
more time to analyze before I make any interactions.

Is boredom indicative of overrun? How does one restore oneself after
overrun?
