If you're new to trousers, I also suggest running it against the 
software TPM at

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ibmswtpm/

and running the tcsd with:

# export TCSD_TCP_DEVICE_PORT=6543
# /usr/sbin/tcsd -e -f

Being able to look inside the TPM and view its tracing will make 
application debug must easier than trying to immediately use the 
hardware TPM.
