Matthias Gerstner determined that error code 0x1 indicates that authentication failed when using tpm_mkaik. He submitted a patch to tpm_mkaik so that it now works when a SRK password is in effect. The code before only set a TPM secret, and the SRK secret was always set to the well known one. Thank you Matthias. Version 1.0.4 of TPM Quote Tools has been release, and it features the fix.
