Thanks for the hint, Pete. The best way to do it is like this, when
logged in as root:
./rp8_linux20_libc6_i386_cs1.bin -s /usr/lib/RealPlayer8
That works perfectly. If I try your suggestion while logged into my
user account, it says I don't have permission to write to the
destination directory, though I obviously have write permission for my
own home directory. Anyway, I'll mention the silent installation mode
in the TRPlayer documentation, so people on non-RPM-based systems can
more easily install RealPlayer.
