When I run "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade" in debian, it keeps wanting me to let it run the realplayer installer. If I say "yes", it gives me an "error code 1" and my trplayer and realplayer don't work and I have to reinstall with the packages which I have on my hard drive that I downloaded--without the installer. If I say "no" I still end up having to reinstall. When I try to run trplayer after apt-get has tried to upgrade and run the installer, I get something about realplayer8/common/rmacore.so.6.0 shared object files (I believe something to the effect those files aren't there. I am using the realplayer_8.0-2_i386.deb and trplayer_1.2.0-1_8386.deb. 1. Should i be able to use the debian installer for realplayer? If so, does anybody know what the problem is here? 2. If I should just avoid using the installer, can anybody tell me how to put a hold on this package so apt-get upgrade doesn't attempt to do something to it. When I hand install the realplayer and trplayer packages I have listed above, it works fine. Sorry the error message isn't more exact; I fixed it without copying the error message first.
