Dave, please answer my questions.DAVEH: Nice evasive maneuver, Glenn. I'm not sure why do you expect me to answer your questions, when you don't answer mine!
DAVEH: It was YOU who is suggesting that I "worship a different Jesus". I have explained some of the characteristics of the Lord I worship. If you disagree and do not wish to worship "that" Jesus, then perhaps you/I are worshipping a "different Jesus".So if I don't believe Jesus today is in heaven with flesh and bones then I worship a different Jesus?
DAVEH: Only if you wish to believe what the Bible says about Jesus' resurrection. If you don't believe Jesus has a resurrected body of flesh and bones, it seems to me that you would be interpreting the Bible to suit your own preconceived notions. Why would you not think that Jesus has a body of flesh and bone today, Glenn? Isn't that commonly taught/believed in Protestantism??? To me, that seems a pretty fundamental element of the nature of God. I really would appreciate your (and Laura's) thoughts on this.WE HAVE TO believe in Jesus this way?
DAVEH: Is that really the way you believe??? To answer your question, yes.....I think you would be worshipping a "different Jesus" IF you don't believe he currently has a body of flesh and bone. A case might be made that IF you worship a God that does not have a physical body, then you must be worshipping the Holy Spirit. But, I think that may be a tangent to this discussion. (Note.....I changed the thread.)If I see Jesus today as a Spirit, with no need for flesh and bones, until He returns to the earth in the second coming, then I worship a different Jesus?
DAVEH: You can think what you want, and insinuate to your heart's content, but unlike you, until I read his comments again I am not going to speculate on what I think he meant. My memory is just not that good, and I bet yours isn't either. You have already shown your tendency to put words into mouths (e.g.., DavidM's comments that you attributed to Blaine), so I don't expect you to change. But for you to suggest that I am being "deceptive" about this surprises me. I would suggest that if anybody is being "deceptive" about this, it is one who makes accusations and then refuses to accurately quote the pertinent comments.Again, Dave, I don't want to disrespect you, but it looks like you have been pretending like you didn't know what the CEO (Mormon boss) was talking about with this DIFFERENT Jesus thing. This seems to be deceptive.
Now Glenn, I've answered your questions. Will you afford me the same respect? If you don't want to answer any others, I would particularly like to know if you believe Jesus currently has a body of flesh and bones??? And......if you don't want to even answer that question, I would sure like to know why? Do you not wish to admit to believing something that is not Biblical?
