Blaine, I know you have a lot of respect for B.H. Roberts and so I'm reading more of his writings. I found it interesting that he had a little different opinion about Alexander Campbell's critique of the book of Mormon than you did. Remember that critque that you thought was so terrible and "grasping at straws"? B.H. Roberts described it as "the most powerful criticism of the Book of Mormon that has been written." This was published in Deseret News, Feb. 24, 1881 in an article by B.H. Roberts entitled, "Life Story of B.H. Roberts."
I think Robert's statement is dated, but maybe you should consider reading it again with a more open mind? Alexander Campbell's article can be found at: http://www.lds-mormon.com/campbell.shtml Keep in mind that Campbell's article was published way back in 1831, less than a year after the Book of Mormon was published. Peace be with you. David Miller. ---------- "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man."
