Marlin,   I did not ask you the question below about Christmas—that came from Glenn. I find your comments very interesting. I can also see the value of not getting caught up on what are now secular holidays. The Jews have many God ordained holidays. (1JO 5:21)   Many of John's writings dealt with the influx of ideas that were foreign to the Gospel that were entering into the body of Christ.   The early followers of Jesus did not celebrate birthdays.  They resisted heathen practices that were against God.  I seek to be like my "primitive" brethren.  They knew the comandments.   DEU 18:9    � When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth             thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those             nations.
