Love assumes the best—not the worst—of others. Of course Marlin does not think Hitler was a good guy. How can you walk in love and say such a thing?
Glenn - It is not love to cover up sin the sin of lying. I DO NOT know that Marlin thinks Hitler was a bad person. He has beat around the bush. Marlin might think Hitler's Christianity was OK. I DO NOT know what Marlin thinks about Hitler. In fact, I get the opposite belief from him sometimes. You are so naive. Every kind of evil person imaginable is on the Internet. I am not saying Marlin is that kind of evil person. I am saying every evil person imaginable is on the Internet. Marlin might not even be Marlin for all I know.
The same goes for your repeatedly calling Marlin a “liar”. If Marlin was lying for telling a parable, then so was Jesus. It is a way of teaching. Parables and hyperbole were often used by Jesus, and He was often abused for it. He used parables for those who he knew would not receive the lesson within the parable. He only taught the deeper meaning to those who were receptive of the message.
Glenn - Marlin is not Jesus. Jesus was not sneaky. Marlin lied and I am surprised you didn't see it. Marlin didn't say what he said was a parable. He said he talked to a man who.... I told him I didn't believe him, and I was right. Now he has lied a second time to cover up his lie. When Jesus spoke parables the Bible states, "and he spoke a parable to them". MARLIN DID NOT DO THIS.
But one has to have a receptive heart to be taught anything. Those
who reject the teaching (who are not walking in love) resort to name-calling, rather than to rational discussion of the issue. If we are receptive to listening to other’s ideas we may grow in the process, even if we don’t accept those ideas.
Glenn - Listen to Marlin? He won't say what he believes. He comes across as superior (pious righteousness) and if we are spiritual we will understand his secrets. This is bull.
(By the way, I do not think that you are a liar Glenn. But I have a dislike of anyone calling someone else a liar, because it is usually a liar doing accusation of “liar!” Have you ever noticed how folks who talk about how “honest” they are, are always liars? And the love to accuse others of being liars. It’s a sad truth. So I would avoid that habit if I were you.)
Glenn - You can dislike it all you want to but Marlin is a liar. He has lied at least twice on TT.
