The reason this is my foundation is because Jesus taught:
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law
David, it seems you have omitted some parts of this passage that might help understand it. Here is the preceding verse (v17), and the full version of the one you quoted (v18):
Matt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Matt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Jesus said he came to fulfil the law in 17, and then in 18 said that nothing will pass from the law until all be fulfilled. My question is, did Jesus fulfil the law? If he did, what does that do to the law under the new covenant? If he did not, then what did he mean when he said he came to fulfil?
