Dean writes:
True He is in the OT-and yes he did initiate the rift in his relationship
with God but the Bible also uses him as an example in the NT. I would like
to express my limited view of Gods word concerning Esau and why I brought
him into this discussion.
Romans 9:13-15
v.13 Jacob have I loved,but Esau have I hated.
V.15 ...I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy,...
God hated Esau to the point of not giving him mercy even though he sought
it carefully with strong tears and crying-He wanted a place to repent and
wasn't giving one.Esau was a worker of iniquity-which means that he worked
at sin with all his might. He choose the pleasure of the flesh over the
blessing of God(ie. the bowl of beans,fornication..basis lusts of the
flesh) even thou he knew it was wrong.
Hebrews 14-17
v.16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person,as Euau.who for one
morsel of meat sold his birthright.
v.17 For ye know how that afterwards, when he would have inherited the
blessings,he was rejected:for he found no place of repentance, though he
sought it carefully with tears
Esau went too far into sin-and the fact that God used this as our example
in the NT is too give us the same warning. This example clearly
demonstrates to me that God must give a place for someone to repent or they
cannot find God no matter how hard they try. Was God grace sufficient to
cover Esau;s sin-No it was not- for God Himself wouldn't allow it. We must
remember salvation is a contract between us and God-we sign it by repenting
and confession Christ with a receiving heart (For out of the abundance of
the heart the mouth speaketh Romans Chp 1) and even a work to a deeper
justification (James 2:24) unto a deeper sanctification-even unto an entire
sanctification (1 John 2:13).
But the point is-lest I get too far ahead- If Esau was in the crowds that
God allows me to preach too - I could not tell that crowd that God loves
them all for it would be a lie. I believe that there are many Esau's in
these crowds. So I tell them that the love of God is here in His word-lay
down you sin and come and get it if you are able.
While on this topic there was another man that sought God with strong
tears and crying and was heard in that He feared God-His name was Jesus
Christ.
Hebrews 5:7...and was heard in that he feared;
v.18 Though he were a son..
For me the half gospel of God the lover of all mankind fails to present the
complete Gospel-Most that come that way don't completely understand what is
required of them nor what they will have to endure-much hardship-and be
hated by the whole world but the benefits of the hereafter and the blessing
of knowing you are a son of God is fantastic

Sister -I am sorry if I offended you concerning my laughter of Michael
J.-But he sat himself up as a God and even mocked at sin-sleeping with
children. God said he would bring the mighty low and lift up the humble and
I rejoice that God has done this-but I agree that I should have more
compassion on the lost-in that I stand corrected. Thank you for that
correction. I would count it a honor to have you pray for my sonI and our
relationship. I cannot give up God so he must give up sin-for our
relationship to work. The sword is there between us. He has been shown the
love of God and the wrath of God and I have allowed him to return to our
home many times while getting him a job with me and spending alot of time
with him-but he refuses to give up sin for God or me. But God is able.
