Due to the remote possibility that one of you may have entered an erroneous answer, I offer this guide to help you ascertain whether or not you really have a handle on what is commonly referred to as the Christmas story.

1. God used an old testament prophet to tell us where our Savior would be born.  That prophet's name was
C. Micah  (Micah 5:2)

2. He predicted that our Savior would be born in
A. Bethlehem (Micah 5:2)

3. Other than the parents, who were the first to be advised of Jesus birth?
C. Some shepherds.  Unskilled labor, poor folks.  Not the kind of people that usually get invited to sit at the king's table.

4.Mary and Joseph were
C. Poor  (Luke 2:24 and Lev.12:6-8)

5. How many wise men came to see baby Jesus in the manger?
C. None.  Only the Shepherds came to the manger (Luke Chapter two )

6. Jesus was called a Nazarene because
C. He moved to Nazareth from Egypt. (Matt.2:19-23 )

7. How many wise men visited Jesus in His home?
D. The Bible does not say (Matt.1:9-11) Notice that the wise men came to a home, not a stable.  Notice that Jesus is not a newborn babe, He is now a child.  Notice that the Bible lists three gifts, not three men.  Some people who know more about this than me, say that these men traveled from a foriegn land for four months, through country frequented by bandits.  Three men would have been easy pickings for the bad guys, so there was probably a caravan of at least forty people who made the journey.  How many of them were wise men is anybodies guess.  Sorta blows our ideas about giving gifts at the time of Jesus birth as the wise men did, because the wise men didn't. (I still give gifts anyway.  It is not a bad thing, just a faulty reason)

8. Jesus had an uncle named
B. Zacharias, husband of Elizabeth, father of John, the baptizer.

9. The angel who appeared to Mary was
B. Gabriel

10. Yes, or no?
The answer can be yes, or it can be no.  It is probably not maybe, since that was not one of the options.  If you are overly optimistic, you probably picked yes.  If you are more critical, you probably chose no, but then, it's hard to tell.  Only Izzy would know for sure.

Now that you have been provided with these deep truths, please join me in destroying any wise men found lingering near manger scenes.

As all my lost friends say,"Happy Holidays"
