DAVEH: Carrol.......do you consider this behavior by anti-Mormon protesters to be a form of obnoxious mockery? # Dean writes: No DaveH-I do not consider this to be Ob-nox-ious Mockery. But I do believe that we are using this behavior as mockery of an ungodly practice. Similar to the behavior of Elijah when he mocked the Prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18:27.
DAVEH: I read it, and the following passages to get the context. There seems to be a distinct difference between Elijah's God and yours, Dean. According to the Bible, with the Lord's assistance Elijah successfully defeated the prophets of Baal. Lacking that divine assistance, I suppose making a public nuisance of oneself by repeated breast beating year after year would be an alternative adopted by those who assume something they don't have.#What you failed to to read Dave was that God sent messenger to warn against sin for years before he brought fire from heaven: 1 Kings 16:1Then the word of the Lord came to Je-hu the son of Ha-na'-ni against Ba-sha, saying...and hast made my people Israel too sin...1 King 17:1...As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years ,...And now it is your turn to be warned before God bring's fire upon your temple.
DAVEH: You are mixing your examples, Dean. Scripture does not suggest those who preached prior to Elijah were obnoxiously mocking as the street preachers in SLC.
I suggest that you read this passage. The questions the Mormons need to ask themselves is why would believers that live by the Bible come thousands of miles at their own expense (and often end up in jail)
DAVEH: Really? What did they do to end up in the pokey?#For preaching the words of Jesus on a public sidewalk. The same sidewalk that the Mormons spent millions to purchase in an attempt to stop the preaching.
DAVEH: Hmmmmmm........So....are you saying it worked? Do they arrest protesters on that ground? IF so, why not move on to ground where protesting is legal?DAVEH: Perhaps they are influenced by an unsavory spirit. You just committed the unpardonable sin Dave
DAVEH: Nonsense, Dean. I may have committed a lot of sins in my life, but I'm not "speaking against the Holy Spirit of God" by answering your question. You are a bit too sensitive, Dean!
by speaking against the Holy Spirit of God. It will be forgiving in this world or the next !Matt.12:32..But whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiving him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. The preachers spoke the words of Jesus at your temple-As lead by the Holy Ghost-
DAVEH: Are you suggesting the Holy Ghost inspired them to make fools of themselves using LDS underwear to mock the Mormon folks in front of a world audience? I don't doubt the SPs quoted some of Jesus' words, but I do doubt that Jesus would approve of their display of unChristian behavior.
I was there I wittinessed them doing so as I did so with the full power of God which was evident by the sheer mass of people literally running across the street to gather around me as I preached..
DAVEH: Was the "sheer mass of people" listening to you preaching as big as the "sheer mass of people" listening to the LDS General Authorities preaching in the Conference Center? If the numbers of people listening to the preachers is an indication of the "full power of God", it seems as though there were more folks listening to the LDS preachers....
I will also be the wittiness against you on that day for these words spoken.
DAVEH: I have no idea of what you just said, Dean. Calm down and try it again, if you wish. Or.....perhaps you want to rethink your "wittiness".
Can one still be saved after this type of sin -I don't know -maybe DavidM can answer this question. But I can no longer converse with you-now only against you.
DAVEH: What's changed, Dean. Have you not always been against me? I've quoted the Bible to you, and you are even against that. I've just got to ask you, Dean.......what is it about me or my beliefs that repulses you? I believe in Jesus, his birth death and resurrection. To most Christians, that is enough for salvation. Do you think more than that is required for salvation? If not.....then why do you worry about me?
I have sorrow in my heart for you Dave-
DAVEH: Dean......Jesus still loves me, even if you don't.
I did not want it to be like this :-(
