DAVEH:  My latest comments are in RED........
DAVEH:  I do like being accepted as a Christian though.

Aint gonna happen here, DaveH.  Izzy

DAVEH:  That is one thing I find so interesting about TT, Izzy.....Christian
tolerance is a rare commodity here.  Supposedly, TT is an open (to everyone)
forum where even sodomites are welcome. In reality, most TTers find it
difficult to accept (or perhaps I should say, feel comfortable) having those
with contrasting views be an active part of TT.

Judy:I don't know that there is such a thing as "Christian tolerance"

DAVEH:  Would you consider Christ's treatment of the woman
about to be stoned for adultery as "Christian tolerance"?

Judy: I would say that this was an act of love on His part and an example
to us.  Jesus didn't exactly practice Christian tolerance toward sin but he
did love and help sinners/ppl by healing and forgiving them while ATST
telling them to "go and sin no more" - Sin has consequences that the Jews
knew about (including the woman caught in adultery); today even the
Church is ignorant about this.

DAVEH:  OK......so we are a little bit close on this, Judy.

Judy: I don't know about that DaveH, you would have to drop your
exception clause with regard to scripture.  I can accept you as a person
but reject your doctrine and the structure you represent.  What I find
sad on TT is how professing believers reject people Jesus died for.
How it is possible to communicate a loving Savior to ppl who are
despised and rejected I don't know. How does one lay down their
life for those they consider beneath them?

DAVEH:  ???  Has that been going on in TT???

Judy: Have you seen it in the 5yrs you've been on TT DaveH?
As for Mormons teaching Christian virtue.  You may call it that but
the reality is there is no power in your lives to live it.  My daughter
used to go to Salt Lake City on business trips and she has friends who
were raised there (some ex Mormons but not believers, and one who is
presently a Christian Scientist).  All concur that beneath a squeaky
clean surface appearance the fruit of people's lives is just as rotten as
elsewhere and respect for persons worse because the LDS Church
which runs the State of Utah favors it's own. So Mormons are only
able to make a good showing after the flesh.  But the saddest part
is that for the most part this is all the professing Church of the Lord
Jesus Christ has been doing also so on the surface there does not
appear to be much of a difference.

DAVEH:  I can't speak much for the LDS folks in SLC, as
I've never lived there.  (Blaine might be able to share a better
perspective, as he lives near there.)   Nor do I claim LDS folks
are better than any other Christians.......though we should be.
If any LDS folks are less than perfect.......I realize they are
human, and I do hope they are striving to correct their
imperfections as they seek to follow in Jesus' footsteps.

Judy: Following in Jesus' footsteps is impossible without being
endued with power from on high. I know you teach about burning
bosoms or something like that but there is just one Holy Spirit and
He anoints and honors Gods Words only.  Not all the differend ideas
and doctrines floating around out there....
