I don't remember anyone saying anything to this affect. I do rememeber asking how many you have led to the Lord in any way, by letting your light shine. It is not notch counting. I think you are just hyper sensitive because you have no converts.
Kevin the way I understand it is- if one is of God the fruit will just be there -as one cannot help but to bear it. I can see two sodomites crossing the street and cry" God loves you" and they will just smile and thank me while continuing on in sin. But if I tell them the truth that God will destroy them in hell unless they repent of this sin and turn to Christ-they may get mad at first but the word of God will eventually hit it's mark-hence one bears fruit.If I bring them home for dinner they may believe that their sins aren't so bad this Christian accepts me surely God will also- no fruit-or bad fruit. The bible teaches that the Law (ie God,s commandments) are our school master to teach us-This means teach/preach the breaking of God's commandments as being wrong and that have an affect on them to bear fruit-but give then a way out of sin by proclaiming Christ.. She that is able to hear let her hear.
