This guy was protected by Bishop Sullivan and even after the committee
found
evidence we was reinstated by this Bishop. The reason he has resigned
now
is that Bishop Sullivan (head of the Richmond diocese) has retired and
they
have this Keeler fellow as an interim person and he follows the guidlines
more accurately. There are two fellows locally who are suing the rcc
because of Leonard molesting them when he was in a position of
authority. It's all sooooo sick.
BTW the G-Man Liddy was telling the story of the gun-toting Australian
grandma yesterday. He mentioned that the Melbourne Police Dept didn't
know what to do with her as the ppl want to make her a saint and Liddy
said they could deport her to the US - we need her over here WDYT :>)

Priest Resigns After Being Placed On Leave By Church
(AP)-A Catholic priest convicted of assault and battery on teenagers in
the 1970s resigned from the ministry Thursday.
The Reverend John Leonard resigned from "active priestly ministry" and as
pastor of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Glen Allen.
A spokesman for the Diocese of Richmond made the announcement in a news
release.
Leonard's resignation came after Cardinal William Keeler placed him on
administrative leave.
The 65-year-old Leonard was convicted Tuesday in Goochland County on
charges in connection with incidents in the 1970s when he was on the
faculty of a boys' Catholic boarding school. He originally was charged
with three felonies, but was convicted of misdemeanors under a plea
agreement.
He is scheduled to be sentenced March 30th. The prosecutor's office has
recommended he be placed on probation indefinitely.
