I am sure this scene, although not in the Gospels, refers to God's chastisement of the serpent in Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." The "seed" in this verse refers to the Messiah.


I don't plan to see it...I read the book.
