TTr's:

It has been brought to my attention that occasionally a subject line changes when the topic has not changed. I am sure this does not happen often, but when it does it makes a "thread" difficult for readers to follow. I appreciate everyone taking Jim's and my prior advice to change the subject line when the topic changes, but if the topic has not changed please leave the subject line the same.

Subject lines serve two purposes: 1) it makes the "thread" easy to follow for on-line readers who are following a particular topic, or who sort their mail by subject, and 2) it makes the archived messages easier to navigate. Are you aware that all of the TT messages are archived (www.mail-archive.com), and archived messages can be sorted by "thread", which relies on the subject line to do that? And, changing only one character in the subject starts a new "thread".

Thanks,
Perry the Moderate
