How is it that "practicing the presence of Christ"
does not
work on TT? where listers who are considered
rude become
gifts from God to train and teach how to
walk after the Spirit
and not in the flesh for whom you can say Thank
You Lord
and lay down your rights?
Does it only work out on the road with
anonymous ppl?

Izzy, that is a great idea. Possibly the best
advice I will ever
receive concerning driving. I am even going to
forward this one
to my daughter. Bless you
sister.

Heres a little idea that has helped me be a more patient driver. (And trust me, I am normally an aggressive driver, and still work on it every time I drive!) Like Brother Lawrence in The Practice of the Presence of Christ, try to keep your mind connected to the Lord when behind the wheel. You are driving FOR the glory of Jesus. Whenever someone tries to cut in front of you or is otherwise rude, consider the possibility that the Lord allowed that driver to be there for the express purpose of teaching you humility and patience. I mean really; not just theoretically. Each rude driver, then, becomes a gift from God, to train and teach you how to walk in the Spirit and not in the Flesh. You wind up saying, Thank you Lord, instead of cursing them. It becomes an exercise in laying down your rights. (And stay out of rush hour trafficthere are just too many of them. J ) Just a thoughtDoes that sound helpful, or not? Let me know if you try it. Izzy |
