Jonathan,
What difference will it make to anything what you think
or what I think? Everyone it seems has an opinion.
Why neglect what we can change to try and figure out
what we have no control over? Makes no sense...

As an addendum to my
own post please note that I am not expecting you to agree with the opinions
below (or even my own). I am expecting you to take them seriously
though. Once again you are due credit for attempting to work this out a
bit.

Quote from the article:
Either America is evil, and hatred of it is merited, or America is a decent country and the haters are evil. The correct explanation is so obvious that only one who already hates America or who is simply morally confused would choose the first.
That has to be one of the most simplistic arguments I have seen. It should be fairly obvious to any of you on this forum that there are far more choices than America is evil or else America is good and those who hate are evil.
I give you credit for at least beginning to do some research on this. Please do not think one article succinctly explains it though. You have a long way to go in understanding this.

The above articles will be a good start. There are lots more out there. Your next assignment will be to go to www.amazon.com and type in George Bush. Note the 50 or so books that question his policies and especially the 10 or more that question his moral character. Here is a start: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/1RZVUN0RKUUJG/ref=cm_lm_dp_l_1/104-5303035-4559105.
Please note that nothing I suggest is to inspire hatred in you or anyone towards your country; it is designed to allow you to think critically about the responsibility of your country. Some say that ignorance is bliss. When it comes to a topic like this one there is no excuse for ignorance. I wish it was happy reading but it is not.

I think this article explains very succinctly why America is hated: www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=39088. Izzy
