Lance, I believe that Jesus died to make it POSSIBLE for each and every person in “humankind” to come into relationship with God by being Born Again. Not everyone has taken Him up on this rather spectacular offer, unfortunately.  In other words, it ain’t a done deal until we accept the Gift! THAT then is the sense in which I'd agree with the 'child of God' reference including Hitler.(qualifier: 'as I see it')
