No Izzy I didn't direct that
remark to anyone in particular, glad you are so happy in your part of
the Church. Do the
spiritual gifts operate and do they lay hands on the sick and cast out
demons? This is what I
long to see - along with good spiritual discernment in the leadership, that
is.

Jt,
if that comment was meant for me (re: a seeker-friendly church we attend) let me
say that it is a very relational
community of Believers. Also a very evangelical one—even
though it is entirely non-traditional and non-“churchy”. The lives
changed there are amazing. We baptized 110+ folks a few Sundays ago. In fact,
I’d like to write about some of those testimonies one day. The folks that you
fellowship with are personally responsible for “looking out for you.” They
constantly hammer about “getting connected”.
Oh,
and also, it isn’t a Megachurch. Holds probably less
than a thousand people (just guessing). We just moved into our first
“real” (new) facility (after meeting in the local YWCA for many years) in
December. Already we have 2-3
services every weekend to contain the volume of folks. Will
have to add on already starting next year. If it turns into a Megachurch (not a goal, but it could feasibly happen—no one
wants to turn anyone away) I guess we can say that the crowds were drawn to
Jesus in His earthly days also. J
Izzy (PS It’s also no better than thousands of other
churches, I’m sure. It just has its
niche in the overall picture of things.) Attend
a "user friendly" Megachurch and tell me who is responsible for and is looking
out for your soul. |
