After many months, I just finished reading âThe Artistâs WayâA Spiritual Path to Higher Creativityâ by Julia Cameron. It was a fantastic exploration for artistic/creatives in getting past whatever it is that blocks you. It ended with a poem by the author that I thought was appropriate for this group:
Words For It
I wish I could take language
And fold it like cool, moist rags.
I would lay words on your forehead.
I would wrap words on your wrists.
âThere, there,â my words would sayâ
Or something better.
I would ask them to murmur,
âHushâ and âShh, shhh, itâs all right.â
I would ask them to hold you all night.
I wish I could take language
And daub and soothe and cool
Where fever blisters and burns,
Where fever turns yourself against you.
I wish I could take language
And heal the words that were the wounds
You have no names for.
Much more effective _expression_ than the line "talks cheap." Thanks for sharing this.
