An old pastor of ours named Steve Brown used to say, "You'll never know that Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you got". I was thinking just how true that was as we sat through this storm. When you sit there watching the weather man pointing out tornados touching down all around you, you realize what it must be like to be on a submarine that is being targeted by depth charges. There is absolutely nothing you can do except wait and see if the Lord is going to punch your ticket. We had twenty-four tornados touch down and stay down for long runs. Two killed in Panama city, and five killed in our neck of the woods. Lots of buildings, crops and live stock destroyed. Another ten killed in Pensacola. On the coast was even worse as far as property damage goes. Lots of beach front homes with an ocean view are now viewing the ocean from beneath the surface.
Now for the good news. The only thing we lost was our internet service. The lights went out for a few minutes, but otherwise we had electic and phones during the whole thing. Didn't even lose a rabbit, and got the rain we needed. We are very thankful, and that is probably the biggest understatement I have ever made.
