Jonathan butts in:  My main point would be that it is God who believes in us.  It is God's response that matters much more than our own.  If our salvation EVER rests upon what we do or don't do every single one of us is doomed.  If instead our salvation is based upon the life, work, and faith of Jesus Christ we can cling to His robe.
