IGNORANCE IS BLISS!!  So many people have tried to explain these things to you but you refuse to listen. Yeshua was/is the atoning sacrifice for all of our sins.  You reject God's commands in favor of Yeshua's. DUH, what part of this do you fail to understand? Yeshua and God are one and the same, Yeshua's commandments are God's commandments.

jt: Yes. Jesus said "If you have seen me you have seen the Father" He and the Father are one. He only did and spoke what he first saw the Father doing and speaking... So when he said in Matt 7:12 "However you want people to treat you, so treat them, this is the law and the prophets" He spoke the Father's heart.

Your misunderstandings are based on man-made doctrines that replace God's directives with a replacement theology that just does not work.  Yet you yourself claim that all of God's word is truth. How can you claim this in one mouthful and then reject His truth in the next?  How is it that you fail to see that there is ONE covenant? Just like the constitution of the USA has been amended so has the Covenant with God.

jt: If there is just one covenant then why does the scripture speak of a new covenant with better promises?

The Abrahamic covenant has been renewed several times, Moses, David, the Renewed Covenant of Yeshua.
Yeshua did not throw out Torah, he expanded Torah by interpreting Torah in a new manner.  Matthew 5:15 does not mean abolish Torah. Abolish and fulfill are complete opposites. Fulfill means to FILL FULL.  If you understood the Hebrew meaning behind this you would know that the teaching of Torah is given a fuller interpretation by Yeshua.

jt: Yes Yeshua as you call Him fulfilled the law and the prophets and we are also to fulfill them in Him and LOVE is what fulfills them.

In fact if you understood the Jewish background of the Renewed Testament you would see the teaching of Yeshua has a very strong Pharisaic flavor. GASP, the Pharisees are the bad guys! Well, that is what the church mistakenly teaches. Once again, failure to understand scripture in the context in which it is written. In many ways the Renewed Testament functions like the Talmud in both content and style.

jt: I see one new man in Christ. You still want to divide everything into Jew, Gentile, et al.

eg.:Matthew 5:21, "But I say to you..."  is a rabbinical way of explaning a biblical truth. It would be better translated, "And I say..." .   The first part of this formula speaks of the Torah concept itself, in the second half of his teaching Yeshua gives the correct and complete concept, often intensifying the teaching.  The very same way the rabbis teach in the Talmud!

jt: I'm not concerned with Rabbis Jeff.  There is ONLY one Rabbi I listen to and his sheep hear his voice.

You are so confused about Torah that you really don't know what you believe. You reject commandments and you do not even know what they are or who they apply to.  It is because of this that Kay has been posting them trying to find what commands (as they apply to you) you reject. Instead, you choose to pick an argument about a MANS beard? How does this apply to you? It does not, so move on.  Show me what command, that applies to you, you reject.

jt: Since the whole law is fulfilled in one word in the statement "you shall love your neighbor as yourself" What is the purpose of it all?  This reminds me of abolition - when the slaves were told they were free but many wanted to remain clinging to the old Master because they thought there was security there.   judyt

I could go on and on, but this is wasting my time and I have studying to do.

 Beautiful!

jt: One more point Jeff,
Since AD70 when the temple was destroyed by Titus Jews have had no sacrifice to go to
on the day of atonement.  So how do you deal with your own sin if you have not so far
been able to recognize and go to the heavenly sacrifice?  Do you just let them all back
up until the temple is rebuilt in Jerusalem?  judyt
